OMEGA - Online Vibration Monitoring Expert quick setting

We assume that you have watched the Omega Introduction video to get a basic idea of what this system is for.

It informs you about failures on your machines and their severities. The severity is evaluated according to the ISO 20816 standard.

You can see the chart of a normal machine. It consists of a motor and a driven part like a pump or a fan.

The acceleration sensors will be mounted to the machine.

The machine contains bearings. We should mount one accelerometer in the radial direction near each bearing.

The radial direction can be vertical, horizontal or any other angle between them. it is not important. The direction just has to be radial.

We need one accelerometer in the axial direction.

If the machine speed is not stable, then we also need to mount the tacho sensor for speed detection.

An unstable speed is usually caused by using a variable-frequency drive.

All sensors are connected to Adash online unit. Both types A3716 and A3800 can be used.

The online unit is connected to the computer with Omega software.

To run the Omega system, you need to have an Omega license in the online unit. Ask your distributor for a price. The license can be ordered directly with the unit or you can insert the license to the unit anytime later.

Download Omega from the Adash website and install it. Look at the manual for a detailed description of installation. The manual is also available on the Adash website.

Now you can run the Omega software and create your machine project.

Create a new project and enter the name. Add your online unit into this project.

Create a new machine and set the properties. These are the name, the speed - the value or tacho and limits values - it means select the ISO standard or user values.

The last step is the creation of measurement points. We have 5 points in our example. Most of the properties are inherited from the machine level, we just need to select the radial or axial option and select the channel of the online unit.

Now we send the project to the online unit.

It takes a short time and you can see the first analysis.

After one month you can see full trend graphs. They contain current live value and average values from the last hour, last day, last week and last month.
